During the toddler's social and emotional milestone development, the following happens:

12 months–18 months—Show affection with people that are known to them and will have tantrums when upset or frustrated.

18 months – 24 months—Including peers in playing games will also use simple words to communicate feelings.

24 months – 36 months – Learn to take turns while playing a game with peers, will also learn to verbalize toilet needs, and may be toilet trained during the day (n.d.).
